Christopher's Crazy Impacts;D
Though not all impacts we’re negative. Because of me, the spread of culture and goods occurred. A trade between the Americas goods and the European goods started to emerge. Also, the planting of certain fruits and vegetables we’re planted like corn, cayenne, cocoa beans, peanuts, potatoes, and tomatoes became more widespread besides just in the native lands as the Americas. These new crop gains gave a boosting to countries such as Russia, England, and France a boost in the economy because they each benefited from the crops. Both culture and economy of many countries we’re affected positively because of this new discovery.
Check out my achievements (;
Another achievement was the island in the ‘new world’ named San Salvador. Like this newfound land, I started colonizing in the new world which is now America today. Besides the Americas, I landed on what is now Jamaica, Guadeloupe and Puerto Rico on one of my voyages. Because of this I am known as a navigator, colonizer, and an explorer who played a key role in spreading civilization across a significant portion of the Earth. My voyages lead to awareness of the Western world. Bringing my culture across this new discovered area. Without me, people question if the United States of America may have been delayed indefinitely, or have never occurred at all.
Though, I must admit, finding what is now The United States of America wasn’t really my goal. I was aiming to finding India, thinking by going west I would eventually hit the coast because the earth is spherical. Even though my logic was wrong, my luck was right. I made of the most amazing discoveries of my time.
My long lasting impact on the world.. OHYEAH :)
The early life of me, Christopher Columbus
Hi, I’m Christopher Columbus. I was born in the year 1451 in Genoa, which at my lifetime was an independent city-state and renowned trading center and even the wealthiest city in the western Mediterranean. Here we were we’ll educated, learning the language of Liguria, and in the future I’ve learned Latin, Portuguese, Spanish, and even Catalan. Growing up, my father Delmonico Columbus was a wool merchant in my city. He gave us much wealth; he was constantly buying and selling real estate over my lifetime. Instead of following in my fathers weaving career footsteps, I was more interested in the sea, and what mysteries and treasuries it beholds. I loved to sail my ships to Ghana, Ireland, Portugal, and even Iceland as well. While in Portugal, I met my lovely wife Dona Felipa Perestrello y Moniz. Together we had our first son named Diego.
One major problem I faced in my life was at the time when the Turks captured Constantinople in 1453. Because of their invasion, oriental trade goods went to the highest prices I have ever seen. At this point, I was paying too much for goods. I knew I couldn’t face this much longer, so I set off for the ‘fortunes’ that we’re said to be held in the route to “the indies”. I set myself on a plan to go west and find these treasures myself. The “ocean sea” was ahead of me, and I was set to go half way around the world. After befriending my Spanish friends, King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella funded me money for my new plan. They we’re both so content on where they were after wining the war; I felt this was the right time to ask for their help. They accepted, and had faith in my plans and me. My first ever voyage was set on August 3rd, 1492.
